Nyx “Strobe of Genius” Palette Review

Hey everyone! Today I wanted to review a new product I’ve been using, which is this highlighting palette by Nyx. That’s right, reviews two posts in a row! Whoo!

When I was in DC back in March, we went to a mall and I got sucked into Sephora. While we were there I was lusting over the Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kits. I ended up pulling myself away from the glittery beauty, and found myself in the Nyx store. To my delight, they had a highlighting palette I’d never seen before.

I genuinely did not think I would like this palette. It has a lot of gold-toned highlighters which I do not typically go for. I have a history of loving white and blue toned highlighters as I think they look better on my skin tone.

I did some swatches on my arm, and surprisingly loved them! The golds are subtle enough that they give more of a dewy look than a golden one. I have found myself experimenting with layering and using a variety of colors on different parts of my face.

Despite my concerns, I’ve gotten so many compliments on my highlight while wearing these highlighters!

The pigmentation is great. I’ve had issues with over-pigmented highlighters, which tend to look like I’ve smeared eyeshadow on my face. These do great though. They’re pigmented enough that they give a good glow, but not so pigmented that they look too colorful.

My favorite highlighters (so far) are the purple on the top row and the pinkish gold on the bottom row.

Have you tried this palette? If yes, how did you feel about it?
